About us

Since 2011, Salford Mental Health Forum has offered a safe space for people living with mental health issues; including their carers and supporters. By sharing experiences we help to shape the provision of mental health services in Salford by having a voice, through consultation and getting involved.

Our aims are:

  • To improve service user and carer involvement through the planning and provision of mental health services in Salford.

  • To improve service user and carer involvement through consultation with mental health services in Salford.

  • To increase patient and carer confidence to become involved in the planning and provision process.

  • To ensure service users and carers have a voice when service provision is planned for the services they use.

  • To enhance service user and carer understanding of mental health services; including what NHS England says as part of the NHS Constitution.

  • To promote and campaign for the rights of service users and carers.

In 2019, we became a registered charity.
